Whole Body Cryotherapy was invented in 1978 by a Japanese Rheumatologist for the treatment of arthritis. Cryotherapy has also been established through decades of studies as a powerful treatment for auto-immune disorders. In more recent years, it has become popular as a means of athletic recovery and increasing physical performance. It is not a medical procedure, but a non-invasive alternative for individuals seeking faster recovery and improved overall health.

Our chamber is cooled using vaporized nitrogen to the treatment temperature ranging between -140°F and -200°. When you step into the chamber the vaporized nitrogen will chill the skin’s surface layer, sending your body into a natural fight or flight mode. Blood vessels will constrict, pulling blood away from your extremities to your core to protect your organs. Your body will supercharge the blood with anti-inflammatory proteins and oxygen, flush out excess white blood cells, and boost your metabolic rate.

Exposure to extreme cold temperatures will also stimulate your body’s natural response to produce more collagen protein. Collagen is the number one protein used to improve skin elasticity and repair your muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments. After your session the blood vessels will dilate and rush highly oxygenated blood and endorphins back out into the body. As your body warms back up you will have a change in your metabolic system and will burn 500-800 calories over the next few hours.

Evansville Cryo is the Tri-State’s First Whole Body Cryotherapy Center.  We offer services to help optimize your post-exercise recovery, relieve pain by rejuvenating fatigued tissues, and revive you mentally and physically so you can keep hustling.

Cryotherapy reduces inflammation and boosts blood circulation, speeding up your recovery time.

Cryotherapy's temperatures offer a massive boost of energy and releases endorphins, allowing you to be at your best.

Cryotherapy narrows the blood vessels, which reduces inflammation and slows pain receptors in the brian.

Cryotherapy has been proven to help your body and mind unwind after a long day. You hustle, you deserve some rest.

Cryotherapy uses nitrogen gas to lower the body’s skin temperature to 30 degrees F for between 1-3 minutes. Thermoreceptors in the skin tell the brain and the Central Nervous System to your body to go into “Survival Mode.” During this process, your body’s blood rushes to your vital organs (a process called vasoconstriction). After your session ends, the body begins to warm up naturally (a process called vasodilation), sending oxygenated & nutritious blood back out to the body’s periphery. This process provides the body with extra nutrients, rids the body of harmful toxins, produces collagen, & activates the body’s natural cell regeneration cycle to produce newer, healthier cells.
